Beanies are great, but when Old Man Winter really bites down hard, a beanie is simply not enough. So, it’s time to make hats with cheek pieces.
Bobble Bearded Beanie Free Crochet Pattern
However, sometimes the cheek-pieces come untied, and kids tend to tug at or chew the drawstrings. So, why not combine the best of a beanie and a balaclava… and look like the hippest of hipsters to boot! The bobble bearded beanie is a very clever and playful solution to that problem, with a bobble-stitched “beard” covering the bottom half of the face to shield it from the cold and look hip while doing so. The hat comes in many sizes, so the whole family can look like Redbeard, Blackbeard or Anyothercolorbeard A link to the free pattern is at the end of the post.
